Islington Mind: Mother-to-Mother Carers Service

Location :
London Borough of Islington

About the role

We have developed a holistic Mother-to-Mother programme that aims to provide a space for mothers and women caregivers of people with mental health problems to have their voice heard, be listened to, share their experiences and gain access to information and support.

At the centre of this provision is a supervised therapeutic social space that brings women caregivers together and offers them opportunities to socialise and support each other informally.

We are looking for volunteers who can support people with activities for 1 day a week (Monday).

You will help provide a flexible and recovery oriented community mental health service to mothers who are carers of people with mental health problems, help them develop individual support plans and mental health self-management tools and support them to access mainstream mental health services if desirable.

Volunteers will receive 4 days of training and fortnightly group supervision.

How to apply: Please read the Role Description carefully and if you feel you are able to commit to the requirements of the position, we would love to hear from you. Please return the completed volunteer application form, along with a copy of your CV to [email protected]

If you have questions, please contact [email protected]
