Islington Mind: Mother to Mother Carers Service volunteers

1 day a week (Monday)
London Borough of Islington

About the role

We have developed a holistic Mother-to-Mother programme that aims to provide a space for mothers and women caregivers of people with mental health problems to have their voice heard, be listened to, share their experiences and gain access to information and support.

At the centre of this provision is a supervised therapeutic social space that brings women caregivers together and offers them opportunities to socialise and support each other informally.

We are looking for volunteers who can support people with activities for 1 day a week.

You will help provide a flexible and recovery oriented community mental health service to mothers who are carers of people with mental health problems, help them develop individual support plans and mental health self-management tools and support them to access mainstream mental health services if desirable.

Volunteers will receive 4 days of training and fortnightly group supervision.

If you would like to volunteer with the Mother to Mother Carers Support Project, please fill in the application form and email it to [email protected] along with a supporting letter indicating how you would like to help.

If you have any questions, please e-mail [email protected]
