With 40 years’ experience of working to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the people of Herefordshire – and to fight the stigma and low expectations often associated with mental health problems.
Our mission is to provide quality support, whilst raising awareness and promoting understanding about mental health issues. With this in mind, we provide empowering community based support, education and outreach, residential and housing services.
We are at a crossroads having survived savage cuts to commissioned services. Our strategy is to finance our portfolio of services through fundraising and income from nursing/residential services and to extend our presence by building a stronger volunteer base. We are committed to securing a sustainable future for the organisation in order to continue serving our community for many years to come.
The General Manager’s role is primarily three-fold:
- Delivering high quality services to our users
- Promoting our external relations with commissioners, funders, stakeholders and other agencies
- Leading the organisation
Key to success in the role is keeping the voice of service users and others affected by mental health problems at the centre of the charity’s work and vision.
