We are setting up an exciting new evening and weekend service in central Worthing and are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and resilient mental health service manager to develop and run it for us.
The service will provide a safe and supportive out-of-hours service specifically aimed at individuals who are struggling to cope when other mental health services are not available. This will include individuals where regular or frequent mental health crises are a feature of their on-going mental health needs and where having a Safe Haven which they can choose to attend when they need to will help to prevent the need to access NHS urgent care. The service will operate 46 hours per week from 6-11pm on week-days and 12noon - 11pm at weekends.
The service manager will lead on the development of the service including involvement in the recruitment and training of the staff team and developing key partnerships and policies. The successful candidate will then manage the service and staff team ensuring the provision of a safe and effective service. For this role we are looking for someone with relevant management and mental health work experience. Some experience of managing a shift based out of hours service would be ideal.
Some of the role will be during normal Monday – Friday office hours but applicants will also be expected to do some of their working hours during evening and weekend shifts. In addition, the service manager is also required to participate in a management on-call rota during Safe Haven hours one week in every 6 for which additional salary enhancements will be paid. We will consider applications from individuals wishing to work 0.6 – 0.8 wte but full-time working is preferred. Please indicate on your application if you want to work full or part-time and if part-time the days/hours you wish to work. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
The closing date for applications is: 28th October, Midday
Interview day: Wednesday 6th November
