Coastal West Sussex Mind has a vacancy for a Parental Mental Health Worker in our Families in Mind Service 

1 in 10 new mum’s will develop post-natal depression and many parents with young children may have or can develop other mental health problems too. Currently based in Council Family Centres in Worthing, Bognor Regis and Chichester our Families in Mind Service works in partnership to provide support to parents prior to having a child, once their child is born and then until their child or children reaches school age.

We have an exciting opportunity to expand the service into Littlehampton, and are therefore recruiting a skilled Parental Mental Health Worker to grow our small staff team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Families in Mind Service Lead, Peer Support Worker and Family Centre Staff to:

  • Deliver structured group session to parents around mental health and well being
  • Develop group social opportunities and activities
  • Provide individual support to parents

As well as having experience of working with people with mental health problem the post-holder will also need to demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for recovery focused mental health work and show that they can be a strong team player with real commitment to their work.

The working days will be Monday to Wednesday, between the Worthing and Littlehampton Family Centres. There is some flexibility over the hours that can be worked.
