Buckinghamshire Mind - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead

About the role

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead will be responsible for leading and coordinating all our internal and external EDI activities across Buckinghamshire Mind. Excellent, culturally competent, collaboration skills are essential for this role as it requires being able to communicate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Three golden threads run through our new strategy, published in 2021 – Inclusive, Informed and Agile. This role is integral to the delivery of our inclusion golden thread, focused on:-

  • improving our understanding of our local communities
  • ensuring our services are accessible to those identified as having a need but who are currently under-represented in our services
  • consider where we can adapt our services to be more accessible, with a specific focus on people experiencing racial inequality; facing financial hardship and financial insecurity; at risk of, or enduring homelessness, LGBTQ+ people, and people with a disability
  • positive engagement with diverse community groups and building trust
  • strengthening our EDI understanding across the organisation, and represent its diversity amongst our staff and volunteers
  • building our network of partner organisations to extend our reach

 This new role is being put in place to help us make a step forward and is for an initial 12-month period. This will be reviewed towards the end of the project.
