Andover Mind are a local charity for people who experience, or are affected by, mental ill- health. This includes things like Bi-polar disorder, post-natal depression, anxiety and dementia. We were founded in 1984 and provide a range of services designed to enable people to live as independently as possible. We are passionate about mental health and love to get out and about in our local community promoting mental health awareness and challenging stigma and discrimination. We have an excellent reputation for providing community-based, recovery-focused support and run well-being centres in Andover, Romsey, Basingstoke and Aldershot. Our other work includes carer support and dementia advice services acoss Hampshire, adult and youth counselling, and our Ugly Duckling furniture recycling/upcycling project. In the last financial year more than 5,000 people used our services across Hampshire. We are a growing organisation and in the last 10 years, our income has tripled. We currently employ 85 staff.
At Ugly Duckling we turn unloved furniture into something special. We also make new things from donated wood and take on customer commissions. We sell our products to help fund the project, so it’s important we reach as wide an audience as possible. We support people with mental ill-health, early stage dementia, autism and social isolation. We have a fantastic group of loyal volunteers who help us to run the project and we are now looking to expand our staff team so that Ugly Duckling can continue to grow.
We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to provide marketing support to Andover Mind and Ugly Duckling. You will need to be a great communicator, be able to empathise with our clients, enthuse our supporters and inspire a new audience to get involved.
