Admin Volunteer - COO Office

Closing date:
27/02/2018
Location:
Stratford
Hours:
Flexible, up to 2 days per week

About the role

This is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to gain valuable administration experience in a dynamic national charity, supporting the day to day work of the COO Office. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience in general administration and secretarial services, as well as insight into the workings of senior level management and organisational planning.

The COO oversees the work of the Infrastructure department, supporting all Mind's work by providing internal services of Finance, Human Resources, Strategy and Planning, IT and Office Services to all staff. The volunteer will have regular contact with department staff and staff from across the organisation.

As an Admin Volunteer, you will support the PA to the COO, relating to ongoing administration, managing diaries and emails, organising meetings and travel, taking minutes, responding to enquiries for information and filing. You will receive the necessary training to carry out this role.

We welcome interest from those individuals who have direct or indirect experience of a mental health problem, who will gain support and understanding, with the opportunity to build confidence, skills and experience from Mind.

The role is flexible and we are ideally looking for someone who can volunteer from our London office in Stratford for up to 2 days (14 hours) per week. Although the post is unpaid, we can offer reimbursement of reasonable travel up to £15.00 per day and lunch expenses up to £5 per day.

Mind aims to ensure that the needs and interest of mental health services users, men, women, Black and Minority Ethnic communities, disabled people, lesbians, gay men and bisexuals and people of all ages are reflected in all its activities. The Volunteer is expected to contribute to this aim.
