Newport Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Take the lead in promoting resilience approaches to improve mental well-being and resilience for children, young people and their families, supporting them to develop and acquire the skills and resources to make positive changes to achieve better outcomes in life.
To provide support to children, young people and their families either living within poverty, or at risk of living in poverty, to improve their health, safety and well-being, to reduce family dependency on specialist service interventions and to remove barriers that promote inequality. To do this in line with the key themes of the Families First funding of family focussed, bespoke, integrated, proactive, intensive and local and address the key priority areas of the wellbeing theme of healthy lifestyles, obesity, mental wellbeing, alcohol, oral health, smoking, low birth weight babies and parenting.
To use the five ways to wellbeing and resilient therapy to provide, family support, group work, self-management courses and awareness raising activities to improve mental wellbeing, resilience and parenting for children, young people and their families, supporting them to develop, acquire and use skills and resources to make positive changes to achieve better outcomes.
