About Great North Swim 2018

Great North Swim

Lots of us already know how great it can feel to get out into green spaces and take some exercise.

Add to that the chance to achieve your goals and raise money to change the lives of people experiencing mental health problems, and you have a truly memorable day.

Experience this incredible open water event in the stunning location of Lake Windermere in the heart of the beautiful Lake District.

It'll be a great day with its picture perfect location, fantastic atmosphere and the great morale of all the swimmers who take part.

Fundraising for Mind - Sophie's story

As someone with Bipolar Disorder, fundraising for Mind has been an incredible experience. I am lucky to be a member of such a wonderful running family – I’ve never met such an inspiring and supportive group.

Read Sophie's story

At the age of 54, with no previous running experience, I signed up for my very first 10k. I wore my Mind vest with pride and ran every step with Sam in my heart. I hope that my contribution may help someone else’s loved one.
