PeerFest 2018
On Saturday 20 October 2018, Thurrock Mind threw open its doors for a spectacular celebration with more than 200 people from across the country, passionate about sharing the power of peer support.
PeerFest 2018 was an opportunity to:
- Give it a go - Try something new
- Take it away - Leave with new ideas
- Pass it on - Share enthusiasm and experience with others
"It's all about sharing good practice, sharing ideas and learning from each other"
Held at the world-class Backstage Centre in Purfleet, PeerFest 2018 put the local community of Thurrock on a national map for the day.
Highlights of the day included peer support in the Criminal Justice System, sharing your story safely, debate around peer support and social media, singing, yoga, and drama.
We heard inspiring stories from groups nominated for our annual Marsh Awards. The day ended with an evening of music, dance and a fare of world food.
