PeerFest 2016

PeerFest 2016 was a colourful celebration of peer support led by Sound Minds and London partners on October 13. The daytime and evening event attracted more than 200 people, welcomed by Sound Minds founder Devon Marston at the fantastic Rich Mix in Shoreditch.

Together we explored the latest research, shared innovative peer support ideas and took part in a drama workshop led by Lightpost Theatre Company, as part of a scheme improving mental wellbeing among young black and dual heritage men.

There was also yoga, Creative Expressionism, mindfulness, and fantastic singing from keynote speaker and mental health campaigner Paul Grey.

"London take a bow....Thanks to everybody in the planning and execution of such a wonderful and unforgettable day to be proud of."

Following The Marsh Christian Trust Awards for excellence in peer support, renowned dub poetry pioneer Jean "Binta" Breeze MBE spoke about her own experience with schizophrenia,

The Mindful Mess after party welcomed hip hop DJ 279, The Trans-Siberian March Band, a drama performance by Augustus Stevens, and so much more.
