Are you a refugee or asylum seeker living in Wales? Are you experiencing feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression, stress or any kind of mental health problems?
Do you give support to anyone who is a refugee or asylum seeker in Wales who would benefit from emotional or mental health support?
We recently discovered a great number of organisations and community groups in Wales offer emotional support to refugees and asylum seekers. However, our interviews with people who had sought asylum in the UK showed that it had taken months or even years to find a source of appropriate support.
It was with this in mind we created our award-winning Directory of Mental Health Services for Refugees and Asylum Seekers - the first resource of its kind in Wales.
The Directory provides useful information about organisations and projects in Wales that offer support to refugees and asylum seekers who experience emotional or mental health problems. It includes practical information about how to access services and is available in:
To ensure the information is relevant and accessible we worked closely with staff and clients at Diverse Cymru, an organisation that provides specialist mental health support to people from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, including many refugees and asylum seekers.
Printed copies of the directory are available in English only. If you would like a hard copy or more information about our work in Wales
