What are the symptoms of PTSD?

 

Each person's experience of PTSD is unique to them. You might have experienced a similar type of trauma to someone else, yet be affected in different ways.


Common symptoms include:

  • reliving aspects of what happened (including flashbacks and intrusive thoughts)
  • alertness or feeling on edge
  • avoiding feelings or memories
  • difficult beliefs or feelings.

I attended a multiple fatal incident... Following this, my symptoms increased: flashbacks, apprehension, self-doubt, anxiety, sadness, anger, and so on.
