Blue Light Programme and local Minds

Since the launch of the Blue Light Programme our local Mind network have played a significant role in supporting the development and delivery of programme activities.

Local Minds have delivered training to over 6000 line managers, delivered resilience interventions to over 700 people, piloted our four local Blue Light Mental Health Networks and more.

Our networks in England

In 2016 to 17 we piloted four local Blue Light Mental Health Networks in England.

Led by a local Mind, each network had investment available to support a programme of activity, designed to collectively improve access to mental health information and support for all employees across emergency services in that area. To ensure join-up with wider community mental health support, the networks had a dedicated coordinator, based within a local Mind, to facilitate cross-sector partnership activity.

Being part of the Blue Light Programme has made a huge difference. Before, I felt like one person, that I couldn’t change the world. Now I’m part of an organisation. It’s growing, and more people are getting interested. You’ve got a lot of individuals who were passionate about these issues beforehand, but now we are all linked by this programme. We are more of a force.
