for better mental health

Campaigning on the Work Capability Assessment

If you're unwell and need support from the benefit system the Work Capability Assessment determines the level of support you get. It's also sometimes known as the 'fit for work' test.

We know the WCA isn't working as it should be for people with mental health problems and we're campaigning for a fairer system.

But I'm here for mental health

Tyneside Mind have produced a powerful film about the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) in collaboration with the people they support.

Watch the film here, and then share it with family and friends. We need as many people as possible to see this film, particularly those who may not be familiar with this difficult process, so that we can increase the pressure for change.

Policy briefings

Our briefings for policymakers set out the changes to welfare and employment support that could make a real difference for people with mental health problems.
