Your mental health

Many of you will be worrying about coronavirus and how it might affect your lives. We are here to support you. Our information provides advice on how to look after your mental health during this period.

About our Mind shops

You can find our shops in more than 170 communities around England and Wales, selling high quality items mostly donated by you.

The money raised from our sales helps to support people in your local community through national campaigning, providing information and support through our helplines, website and publications, as well as your local Mind. We rely on your generosity to fund the important work we do.

Volunteering in a Mind shop

Ever wondered what it's like to volunteer in a Mind shop?

We went out to speak to some of our brilliant volunteers to get their thoughts on the Mind volunteer experience.

Volunteer at your local shop

A fixture on our high streets since 1961, Mind shops are supported by our amazing volunteers. They're a dedicated bunch, who help us make sure that everyone with a mental health problem has somehwere to turn for advice and support.

There's no need for volunteering to be a big, time-consuming commitment either - even an hour a week could make a huge difference. By joining one of our teams you'll get the opportunity to learn new skills, gain qualifications, make new friends and build your confidence too.

Whether it's sorting and pricing clothes, making sales or getting creative on the shop floor, there's plenty to help out with. Our volunteers also benefit from:

  • 25% discount on all donated items in store
  • free Mind membership
  • the opportunity to complete National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)
  • the chance to gain new skills and experience in different roles in retail.

Volunteer with us

Donate to your nearest Mind shop

All of our shops will be pleased to accept clothing, accessories, books, records, DVDs, CDs, homewear, linens and children's games and toys.

We also have Mind furniture shops in Alvaston, Kings Heath, Hinckley and Syston which take donations of electrical goods, furniture and white goods.

Find your nearest shop in the map below, and drop your donations off during opening hours. Some of our shops also offer a collection service, so give them a call if you're not able to get to your local shop in person.

Make your donation go further with Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, you can make your donations worth 25% more to us at no extra cost to you. Simply fill in a Gift Aid form in one of our shops when you make your donation. This allows us to claim back the tax you have paid on your donation and is really valuable to us.

Mind in your area

To find your nearest Mind, enter your postcode or town in the box below.

If your town search is not returning results this may be because of a Google Map issue. If so, please zoom in on the map (click on the small + in the bottom right) to search for Local Minds that way.

New shops

We're always on the look out for places where we can open Mind shops.

If you are a landlord or have a property you think may be suitable, have a look at our property requirements and list of target towns and get in touch with Emily Morris, our Head of Property.
