3. Conker tournament
Relive your childhood with a conker tournament. Charge for entry and award a prize for the winner. For an added fundraising boost, hold a sweepstake on Guess to Give to see how long it takes the first conker to get destroyed.
4. National Poetry Day
It’s National Poetry Day on 2 October. The theme this year is Remember, so why not set yourself a memory challenge. Get sponsored to learn an entire poem by heart. If you’re feeling adventurous get more people involved and turn it into a poetry slam.

8. Diwali lantern making
Celebrate the festival of lights with an afternoon of lantern making and decorating. Check out these instructions and remember the lanterns are only decorative and should not be put near a flame.

You don’t really need an excuse to get out and enjoy the leaves changing colour, but if you’ve got a favourite route, why not get out and share it with friends and family, by organising a sponsored walk.
