The Mind Walk FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about the Mind Walk. We hope you can find the answer you need here. If not, please contact us at [email protected].

Registration

The Mind Walk is a 10km fundraising walk starting Battersea Park, London on 23 March 2025. This is a moment to make moves for mental health – and everyone’s invited. Come alone or sign up with friends and family, raise money and make moves for mental health. You’ll be stepping into a movement that’s determined to build a better future for mental health.

After the walk, we’ll finish up at our event village where you can take a photo, grab a snack and get to know your fellow walkers even more.

We're offering early-bird tickets to all companies who want to take part as a team. If you'd like to take part with your workplace, sign up here.

General entry tickets will be on sale soon so watch this space!

Simply get your first donation and we'll send you your free Mind t-shirt in the post. We'll be sending t-shirts out every week. Please allow 7-10 days for it to arrive.

No, everyone taking part must register before the event.

Children can take part as long as they are able to complete a 10km walk. This is at the parent or guardian's discretion but we urge you to consider that the distance may be challenging. Anyone under 18 can take part for free but please ensure you register everyone attending.

Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Any 16-17 year olds that want to take part without a parent or guardian will need to purchase a ticket and have a parent/guardian complete a parental consent form, which we will send via email.

Sometimes when someone begins putting in their details to claim a team place, our form will automatically reserve the spot. If you’re having issues claiming team places, drop us an email at [email protected] and we’ll get this sorted for you.

Please let us know as soon as possible by dropping our friendly team a message at [email protected].

Fundraising

Once you sign up, your fundraising page will be made automatically for you. Make sure to add a profile picture and your story letting everyone know why you're taking on The Mind Walk. Fundraisers with a page story raise on average 315% more!

Head to our fundraising hub for more tips and fundraising ideas to help you smash your £150 target.

The money this walk raises will make real change happen. It’s going to help our helplines pick up the phone to people in need. It’s going to write vital mental health information for anyone to use. It’s going to help us make wins on mental health law in the courts. You and brilliant walkers like you are going to change lives. You’ll be making moves for mental health.

Find out more about what we do for people living with a mental health problem.

The minimum fundraising target is £150. This could pay for 10 calls to our Infoline, giving people trusted information and a voice at the end of the phone when there’s nowhere else to turn. Find out more here.

Check out our tips for online fundraising to help you smash that target.

When you sign up, your fundraising page will be created for you. Donations to this page will come to Mind automatically.

For any offline cash donations you can pay your fundraising into your bank account and then do one of the following:

  • https://www.mind.org.uk/donate/#donatetoday. Just make sure you select the option “I am paying in money from a fundraising event” and add “The Mind Walk” under the “Event Name section”
  • Over the phone by calling us on 0208 215 2243
  • Or you can send a cheque to our office at: Mind, 2 Redman Place, London E20 1JQ.

You can keep fundraising for 4 weeks after the event. On average, 20% of donations come in after the event. So, share that post-walk selfie and let everyone know you're making moves for mental health!

The Mind Walk is run by national Mind. All the money raised through the Mind Walk will support the work of national Mind. Find out more about what we do here.

National Mind is a separate charity from the local Mind organisations, and while we have similar aims and values, we fulfil slightly different roles. We provide nationwide information and services and campaign nationally for support and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem. This structure allows Local Minds to deliver frontline services in their local communities.

This means we do our fundraising independently. If you would like to fundraise for your local Mind, you can get in touch with them directly.  They will be delighted to hear from you. Find your local Mind here.
