  • When will I receive my fundraising medal?

Our fulfilment house are currently processing and sending out R.E.D January fundraising medals. We expect them to arrive by the end of March 2018.

If your medal hasn't arrived by the end of March, please contact us at redregistrations@mind.org.uk and we'll look into this for you.

Please be aware, Minds office will be closed over Easter, re-opening on Weds 4th April. We’ll respond to your query when we return.

 

  • I’ve received an extra R.E.D January fundraising medal, what should I do?

If you’ve received a second medal it may be that we have a duplicate registration for you. This happens occasionally when a fundraising page is set-up after registering and there is a variation in the details on your fundraising page/JustGiving account e.g. the name on your page is different from the name you registered with.

  • I never received my t-shirt, are they still being sent out? 

After receiving replenishment in all t-shirt sizes, our fulfilment house finished sending out all outstanding t-shirts, in February.

We’ve seen there has been a few occasions where individuals have been missed completely. We are sorry if you’ve been affected in this way and are looking in to why this has happened.

If you are still waiting for your t-shirt, please do get in touch. You can send us an email here redregistrations@mind.org.uk or call us on 0300 999 3887. We'll look in this and ensure your t-shirt is re-sent.

Please be aware, we have some stock left in all sizes except XL. We have sizes Large and XXL available as an alternative.

 

  •  What is R.E.D January? 

R.E.D stands for RUN EVERY DAY and centres around a month long challenge in January to run, walk, swim (whatever you fancy!) each day, every day.  There are no rules. The aim is to get active every day. 

 

R.E.D's mission is to raise awareness and support for mental health, by promoting the positive power exercise can have on our minds and wellbeing. 

 

  • What if exercising every day seems too daunting? 

 

The great thing about this challenge is its inclusivity. Whether you’re planning on walking 5 mins a day or running 100 miles in the month, there are no rules and no judgements. The emphasis is on a flexible exercise schedule that celebrates every achievement, no matter how large or small. You can scale things up or ease them back, just keep listening to your body. R.E.D experts will be on hand to offer handy tips and advice. 

 

Exercising is usually a beneficial thing to do for your mental health, and can be helpful as part of a long-term recovery or treatment plan. But there are some situations in which you might need to take extra care in case it starts to become a problem for you.

  • When is the deadline to register for R.E.D January 2018?

Registration for R.E.D January 2018 closed at Midnight on December 31st. Please still feel free to get involved.   • Where does R.E.D January take part?

At a location that suits you. Whether you're exercising solo, with friends, family or colleagues, you decide where and when is best for you to enjoy your daily dose of exercise. 

You can also feel supported in the knowledge that there will be R.E.D participants around the country that will be out and about at the same time as you. 

  • How do I register?

  • How do I get a R.E.D t-shirt?

T-shirts were limited to the first 20,000 registered participants and therefore not all registrants are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt

We would love nothing more than to give R.E.D t-shirts to everyone who registered, but to avoid t-shirts being delivered even later into R.E.D January, they are only available to the first 20,000 registrations. We hope you understand our reasoning behind this.

If you're in the first 20,000, when you registered, you would have been asked your t-shirt size.

  • My t-shirt hasn’t arrived by 1st January, when will I receive it?

Due to high demand, t-shirts were produced and sent out in three stages throughout January - T-shirts are still winging their way to you now.

We received new stock of sizes; small, X large and XX large w/c 8th January. These sizes started to go out that same week and will continue to be sent out during the following week.

However, we have the biggest backlog of t-shirt orders to fill for sizes small, XL & XXL - this may be why you’re seeing others (who registered after you) receive theirs first.

If you registered in early December and your t-shirt hasn’t arrived yet, we anticipate you’re t-shirt will arrive between 15th -20th January at the earliest. However, it may not arrive until the following week (w/c 22nd Jan) depending on postage.

If you registered during the Christmas break, your t-shirt may not arrive until the fourth week of January, depending on the size you ordered. As above, small, XL & XXL are the last to go out.

  •  Can I still get a t-shirt now?

Due to the shortages on t-shirts, we must prioritise sending them out to those who registered first.

  • How do I get a fundraising medal?

We’d be delighted to send you a medal in recognition of your fundraising achievements and to say thank you for supporting Mind’s vital services. This will be automatically sent out to fundraisers.

Given the incredible number of REDers who have chosen to fundraise, we want to make sure we give everyone enough time to get all their fundraising to us so you are thanked for the correct amount.

Therefore medals will be sent out once all fundraising has been received, we allow one month for the team to send in their sponsorship in the many different ways. To ensure we can process all your sponsorship correctly we anticipate all medals will be received by end of March 2018.

Medals will be sent to the address you registered under.

If you have not registered with Mind and have set-up a JustGiving page, please ensure your JustGiving account includes your address. If you’re not sure, please log-in to your JustGiving account and check your personal details are up to date.

  • I'd like to fundraise whilst doing R.E.D January, how do I do that?

That’s great!

If you'd like to fundraise, the easiest way is to set-up a JustGiving page via justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/mind/redjanuary. Just click start fundraising and you’ll be prompted to set-up a page linked to Mind and R.E.D. Then start sharing the page with your friends, family and network via Facebook and Twitter

There's no fundraising limit - Whatever you feel comfortable with - you may want to consider the cost of the medal and postage.

If you’ve set-up a fundraising page for Mind which is not linked to the R.E.D January campaign, please send us a link to your page here REDregistrations@mind.org.uk and we will link it for you.

  • How do I connect with other R.E.D January participants?

The R.E.D January Facebook community brings people together from around the country. It's a space for you to share your personal progress and feel supported by the endless amounts of encouragement.

There's also the option to connect with R.E.D participants via our Instagram and Twitter pages. 

  • I’m fundraising offline, how do I send in sponsorship?

If you’ve chosen to fundraise offline using a sponsorship form, you do not have to set-up a JustGiving page to receive a medal (as long as you’re registered with us), but you’re welcome to do so if you choose.

Offline sponsorship can be sent to Mind in the following ways:

•        Pay cash in to a branch of NatWest using the paying-in-slip provided in your pack

•        If you did not receive a paying-in-slip, you can make a bank transfer to the Mind Events bank account 

o        Ac no: 5889 6961

o        Sort Code: 60 40 02

•        Send a cheque to Mind Events, 15-19 Broadway, Stratford, London E15 4BQ

•        Donate on Mind’s website here

•        Please include your name/Mind number whichever way you choose to donate

  • I’m fundraising with someone else or a team, will we all receive a medal?

If you are joint fundraising with someone else or a team, please do make sure all fundraising partners are listed on your JustGiving page. If you haven’t already, please let us know who you’re fundraising with, email R.E.D Registrations here redregistrations@mind.org.uk – we will review these emails once R.E.D January is completed.

 

  • I’m fundraising with Virgin Money Giving - am I registered and will I still receive a medal?

If you registered with Mind before the deadline of 31st December, we’ll have a record of you so we can match your Virgin page with your Mind registration, you’re still part of the team and will receive a medal.  

If you did not register with Mind before the deadline and have set-up a Virgin Money Giving fundraising page for R.E.D January, please let us know here redregistrations@mind.org.uk so we can make sure you’re registered correctly and send you a medal.

 

  • The JustGiving Campaign has now closed, can I still make a donation to R.E.D January 2018?

If you’d like to donate to someone who took part in R.E.D January 2018, you can do that on Mind’s website here /get-involved/donate-or-fundraise/donate/

Please include their name so we can match it to their record and it their donation to their Fundraising total.

 

  •  How do I contact someone from the R.E.D team?

Share your thoughts, ask a question or simply say hello at runeverydayjanuary@gmail.com.

  • Can I take part and raise money for my Local Mind?

If you complete our online registration form to take part in R.E.D January, your online fundraising page will be set up for Mind and we will receive any fundraising you raise.

This year a number of Local Minds are taking part in R.E.D January and you can fundraise for them if you wish by registering directly with them. Email Lisa (l.riggs-long@mind.org.uk) in the Mind Events Team for details of which local Minds are taking part and she can direct you towards their registrations process.

The local Minds taking part will be providing their fundraisers with a medal at the end of R.E.D January.

If you’re not sure if your local Mind is taking part, please check with them.

  • After the challenge in January, is that it for R.E.D?

 We know that people who experience mental health conditions like depression and anxiety are not restricted to feeling the symptoms for one month of the year. It can happen at any time and the R.E.D community page and Mind is available to help people throughout the year. 

Feel free to remain a part of the community, share stories and offer and receive support well after your R.E.D January experience.

There are also Mind events throughout the year for you to continue using physical exercise to help manage your mental wellbeing. For more details go to mind.org.uk/events
