The summer edition of Membership News is now available!

One of the (many) benefits of being a Mind member is that you'll receive a quarterly Membership News magazine. The magazine is packed full of mental health info and Mind updates, member and celebrity interviews as well as helpful tips and advice from our information and legal teams.

Below is a sneak peek of what you can find in the summer edition. To get the full magazine, become a member and we'll send a copy with your welcome pack.

Meet a member

Our membership magazine is written for and about our members. In every edition, members share their stories, experiences and successes with us. In the summer magazine, our members share their experiences of depression, their thoughts on peer support, and two of our members explain how when they were planning their wedding, they knew they wanted mental health to be at the heart of their big day.

Advice for staying well

In each edition of the Membership News, we enlist the expertise of our Information team to provide advice on various mental health problems. The focus this summer is on self-esteem. The article explains what self-esteem is, possible causes, treatments and how to stay well. We also ask the team your questions.

"Self-esteem is how we value and perceive ourselves. It's based on our opinions and beliefs about ourselves.

Having low self-esteem isn't a mental health problem in itself, but the two are closely linked."

Celebrity Interviews

In every issue of the magazine we talk to celebrities about mental health. This time, author Juno Dawson speaks to us about her experience of anxiety, the challenges of being a trans role model and the happiness of finally being able to be herself.

"It's so important to be mindful of how gendered our society is and to try as hard as we can to move away from this notion that there are only two ways of being. It would be ridiculous to say this is what women are like and this is what men are like, yet sometimes I think we live in a society that does that."

Mind’s members are at the heart of our work. By becoming a member you’ll join a growing group of people who play a part in everything we do, and who are determined to make sure that no-one faces a mental health problem alone.

Mind members get involved in all aspects of our work. They campaign for better services for themselves and others, they tell their stories so that others might find the courage to tell theirs, they raise awareness of mental health problems and much more.

A standard one-year membership costs only £26.
