Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this, despite having read many of the stories before. It was quite different to read them in the order Stephen King wanted me to – and also to have some insight into how and why he wrote the story.

Having said that, some of the plotlines were a bit grim. There are some fairly graphic descriptions of violent acts, but you could easily skip over these to some of the more sci-fi stories if you wanted to. I particularly enjoyed these stories, and would recommend them to people who prefer ‘lighter’ Stephen King stories.

I also found some of the poems slightly strange – the author has spoken before about how he doesn’t really rate his poetry, and thinks he’s much better at writing novels and short stories. There weren’t many though, so it didn’t stop me enjoying the book.
