Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn

I loved this book. I read it after a friend recommended it, and I couldn’t put it down! I think it has everything you’d want in a story; suspense, intrigue, fascinating characters and a fast-moving plot. It centres around the disappearance of Amy Duhne, and the hunt for her abductor. Her husband, Nick is suspect number one, and his diary doesn’t really aid his cause…

The book switches between her perspective and his perspective which I found a bit distracting at first but not enough to want to stop reading it. I found I got used to it after a while and the two different tones really ‘made’ the book for me in the end.

I’m finding it difficult to write a review without spoiling the ending but I will say that I raced through it really quickly – eager to find out who was telling the truth and who was lying. I was worried I’d find the ending disappointing given how much I’d built it up but I didn’t at all. If you haven’t read it yet, I’d highly recommend you get yourself a copy and get started today!
