From the very beginning, I knew this was going to be a tragic love story. As such, there is a certain inevitability about the plot, but it’s still a really enjoyable summer read. Lilah and Callum are in many ways opposites, but for two people who claim not to believe in love at first sight, they come pretty close.
I liked how some chapters were written from Lilah’s perspective and some from Callum's. It brought out their quirky personalities and made me feel really sympathetic towards them. I think it also emphasised their differences, and made me think about whether two people who are really similar can ever manage to maintain a long-term relationship.
It’s difficult to say much about the plot without giving away the storyline, but it’s fair to say it’s an emotional rollercoaster! I was laughing one moment and crying the next - but it's definitely not too sad to want to get properly stuck into. If you’re after an easy summer read with some heart-wrenching moments, this is the book for you.
