About the Brighton Marathon

Runner Thumbs Up 560 X 400

Join Team Mind for this beautiful coastal marathon taking place in Brighton in April 2019.

Now the UK's second largest marathon, it's a fantastic day by the sea and the main event of the Brighton Marathon Weekend.

Take on the 26.2 mile route around the vibrant city of Brighton - take in the sea views, soak up the amazing atmosphere and enjoy a fabulous finish at the beach!

We're so pleased to have our largest team of people taking part in one of Europe's favourite marathons, so expect fantastic camaraderie as you take on your marathon.

Run for Mind and help make sure no one faces a mental health problem alone.

How we'll support you

Whether you have your own place, or would like a Mind guaranteed charity place, we will be with you every step of the way.

We offer all our runners a fantastic support package including:

  • loads of training and fundraising advice
  • regular email updates
  • a Mind running vest
  • Loud and enthusiastic cheerpoints on the route to help encourage you on your way
  • A reception with refreshments at the event village when you finish
  • a dedicated and experienced project manager who will provide information and support in the run up to your event

Join our team!

There are two ways in which you can join the Mind team:

1. Mind Charity Places: Each year Mind have a number of guaranteed places in the event and if you would like to run on one of these we ask that you pay a non-refundable registration fee of £40 and pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £500. Charity places have now been filled. To be added to the waitlist please email [email protected]

2. Own place runners: If you have been lucky enough to gain your own place from the event organisers we would love you to join our team.

Becoming a runner for Mind - Sophie's story

As someone with Bipolar Disorder, fundraising for Mind has been an incredible experience. I am lucky to be a member of such a wonderful running family – I’ve never met such an inspiring and supportive group.

Read Sophie's story

At the age of 54, with no previous running experience, I signed up for my very first 10k. I wore my Mind vest with pride and ran every step with Sam in my heart. I hope that my contribution may help someone else’s loved one.
