York Mind – independent advocate

We're looking for an advocate to provide an independent and confidential service to people in York and the surrounding area.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Offer an advocacy service to people in line with the relevant codes of practice and best practice guidance
  • Deliver advocacy streams in a flexible and efficient way
  • Manage a fast-paced caseload of clients and maintain accurate case notes, files and records
  • Work collaboratively and in partnership with other agencies

About you

We're looking for someone with: 

  • Advocacy qualification
  • The ability to work on their own initiative and manage a busy workload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to maintain clear boundaries with service users
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn key legislation
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults
