West Sussex Mind – mental health peer support worker
Do you have your own lived experience of managing mental health challenges whilst being a parent of a young child? Are you ready to support others through their own recovery journey?
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Attend Families in Mind and Dad La Soul groups to engage with male carers and support attendance to/from either organisation
- Support the provision of face-to-face or video conference structured group sessions to parents around mental health and wellbeing
- Facilitate and develop the giving and receiving of peer support
- Contribute to the achievement of parents' goals and be an active member of the staff team
About you
We're looking for someone with:
- Personal experience of caring for a child alongside managing difficulties with your own mental health
- This might include personal experience or supporting a partner through post-natal mental health issues, using mental health services and an understanding of mental health recovery
