Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind – peer support worker

We have an opportunity for a peer support worker to join the organisation on a permanent basis. The Listening Space is a therapeutic space for people to come and feel listened to and supported. Reporting to the project manager, you'll be responsible for the daily working of the Listening Space.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Work with clients via face-to-face contact or telephone
  • Support with the set up and close down of the space, working with individuals and groups
  • Work within a framework for safeguarding and risk management

We're looking for someone with:

  • Commitment to providing effective high-quality services
  • A willingness to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Emotional resilience and ability to manage own wellbeing 
  • Commitment to adapt to service changes
  • Experience of providing support services to members of the public and other experience relevant to the role
