Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind – mental health practitioner

This is an opportunity to work as part of a charity committed to our vision of enabling everyone in our communities to achieve better mental health. In your role as a mental health practitioner for children, young people and families you will work as part of the #Thrive service together with our NHS partners.

What you'll do

In this role you'll: 

  • Offer initial discussion within a safe space to explore mental health related concerns and assess what type of support is appropriate
  • Build and manage a caseload of supporting children, young people and families using administrative systems and give mild to moderate support
  • Be responsible for managing issues relating with safeguarding children and young people from risks with the support of your team
  • Communicate effectively with your team, manager and external services 

About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to respond to change and uncertainty positively
  • Strong team working and collaboration with others
  • IT skills
  • Ability to use data systems
  • Ability to assess and signpost service users to appropriate means of support
