Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind – community navigator

We have an opportunity for a community navigator to join the organisation on a fixed term basis. You'll report to the Families in Mind project manager and be responsible for supporting children and young people with the transition from statutory child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) to community support. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll: 

  • Aid service users in their recovery and to sustain outcomes following completion of work with CAMHS
  • Work closely with Tameside CAMHS services and as part of our growing children, young people and families directorate based at the Ashton Hub
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people inside and outside the organisation
  • Use IT systems including email, online systems, and Microsoft packages to record and share information
  • Deliver and monitor a range of complex activities or programmes in your department

About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience of offering support services to members of the public
  • Experience of working independently to deliver services safely
  • Experience of working with children and young people in supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Experience of identifying and managing risks and safeguarding concerns
  • Experience of delivering one-to-one and group-based child-led, recovery-focused support
