South Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind – peer support worker
In this role you'll help prepare, organise and facilitate peer support groups across Worcestershire with a view to empowering people and encouraging them to grow their own wider social support networks. There is a positive emphasis upon self-help, personal growth and learning to embrace change.
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Organise suitable venues
- Respond to enquiries
- Determine an individual's suitability for group work
- Carefully plan the content of the peer support groups
- Directly deliver several peer support groups
- Record activity data in a timely manner
About you
We're looking for someone with:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work proactively with a diverse range of people
- A clear understanding of confidentiality when dealing with matters relating to staff and service users
