South East London Mind – director of development

The director of development will be a crucial member of the senior leadership team, responsible for leading South East London Mind’s business development work. This involves managing income generation, building partnerships, fundraising, and selling services/products. 

Additionally, the director of development will oversee South East London Mind’s communications and community fundraising functions, ensuring the effective implementation of relevant strategies and work plans.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Develop and implement an income generation strategy including tendering for commissioned services, making targeted grant applications and maximising voluntary income through fundraising and training
  • Build and maintain strong relationships both within South East London Mind and with commissioners, partners, corporate organisations and donors
  • Identify funding opportunities and maintain a good understanding of the local and national context for our services
  • Prepare compelling tender submissions and bids
  • Contribute to organisational strategic decision-making as a member of the senior leadership team
  • Contribute to the development and effective implementation of South East London Mind’s strategy and business plans
  • Contribute to, and where appropriate lead on, the development of policies and procedures
  • Offer leadership to the communications team, including ensuring all online and physical communications and marketing products are inclusive and of a high standard

  • Ability to build productive professional relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to operate as a senior leader in a complex organisation
