Rochdale and District Mind – listening lounge lead

We're looking for someone to lead our Listening Lounge sessions: a safe, welcoming non-clinical environment. You'll listen to and support individuals who are experiencing emotional distress and present with self-defined crises.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Run the Listening Lounge service in Middleton
  • Coordinate the delivery of each session
  • Hold a caseload of service users
  • Manage a team of staff and volunteers
  • Be responsible for delivering, reviewing and monitoring outcomes

About you

We're looking for someone with: 

  • Experience of working within mental health services and of supporting individuals
  • Experience of using recovery outcome-focused models and tools
  • High level of understanding of mental health problems and emotional wellbeing and how it presents itself in different cultures
  • Experience of working within social deprivation
  • Experience of managing project development and quality auditing activities in order to develop a service
  • Working as part of a team to deliver agreed project outcomes
