Nottinghamshire Mind – chair of trustees

The role of the Chair is to give leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees. You'll enable the Board to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Chair and facilitate board meetings
  • Represent the organisation at functions and meetings
  • Act as a spokesperson as appropriate
  • Assess the board’s performance annually
  • Ensure that the organisation defines its goals and evaluates its performance against agreed targets
  • Ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations

We're looking for someone with:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to Nottinghamshire Mind’s vision, mission and values
  • A willingness to seek constructive debate and dialogue over confrontation
  • A willingness to speak their mind
  • Good, independent judgement
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
