Norfolk and Waveney Mind – head of training and development

At Norfolk and Waveney Mind, we're growing our training team and introducing a purpose-built training centre. We'll provide internal training and specialist external training in mental health.

We're now looking for a training and development lead to help create and lead our new growing team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will:

  • Agree the vision, objectives and range of services the team will run internally and externally,
  • Decide how services will be delivered
  • Review, plan and deliver the mandatory training for internal staff 
  • Oversee the design and delivery of operational and management training courses
  • Develop and deliver service-specific training, including mental health and suicide prevention training
  • Support the marketing, sale and delivery of external courses
  • Develop and implement systems to identify need and schedule training
  • Support apprenticeships for new and existing staff
  • Help develop clear career pathways across the charity
  • Lead the accreditation for our new suite of mental health and suicide prevention courses

About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • Training in mental health, psychology, counselling or recovery (level 3 minimum)
  • Training in facilitation or group work
  • Management or CIPD qualifications
  • Experience working in the mental health
  • Experience of delivering mental health focused training
  • A full driving licence and their own transport
  • Experience of providing training to people working in mental health
  • Experience of working with businesses to evaluate and deliver training or consultancy
  • Experience of creating training for paying audiences
