Mind in West Essex – educational mental health practitioner (EMHP)

As an educational mental health practitioner, you'll offer low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in:

  • Child anxiety
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Adolescent anxiety
  • Adolescent low mood

You'll also run group sessions in:

  • Emotional regulation for primary aged children
  • Child anxiety for parents and carers of primary aged children
  • Challenging behaviour for parents and carers of primary aged children
  • Interpersonal psychotherapy adolescent skills training for secondary aged children

You'll work with children, young people and parents from different cultural backgrounds and ages. You will:

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems
  • Help children and young people to access specialist services
  • Support staff in schools to identify and manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing
  • Improve access in schools to specialist mental health services
  • Support schools to develop a whole-school approach to mental health
  • Work with partnership organisations and stakeholders
