Mind in Havering, Barking and Dagenham – project worker

This is a new role to support the mental health and wellbeing of fathers in the local community. You'll assess men's needs and help deliver the Dads Matter service.

The service is designed to support men with low-level mental health issues, or those at risk of developing them during the perinatal period.

What you'll do

You'll:

  • Help deliver the project

  • Work closely with the project lead

  • Support partnerships and community relationships

  • Co-ordinate and deliver marketing and outreach

  • Run sessions and activities

About you

You'll have:

  • At least 1 year’s relevant experience of working in the mental health sector

  • The ability to draw on your own lived experience

  • A person-centred approach

  • Knowledge or lived experience of perinatal mental health problems, including the stigma surrounding these

  • Experience managing a caseload of clients

  • Experience in running and planning peer groups

  • Experiencing offering guided self-help
