Mind in Havering, Barking and Dagenham – project lead
This is a new role to lead our mental health and wellbeing offer for new fathers in the local community.
You'll lead The Dads Matter program. It's designed for dads, with dads, and supports dads during the perinatal period.
What you'll do
- Manage project delivery
- Train and manage the project worker
- Support partner relationships
- Coordinate and deliver marketing and outreach
- Run sessions and activities
About you
You'll have:
- At least 1 year's experience working in the mental health sector
- Knowledge of early attachment and the impact of parental mental health issues on the parent-infant relationship
- The ability to run groups and engage with dads from different backgrounds
- Draw on your lived experience, and have a person-centred focus
- Knowledge or lived experience of fatherhood and perinatal mental health issues
- Experience managing your own caseload of clients
- Parenting experience
- Excellent communication skills
- A proven ability to manage people
- Good understanding of the benefits of peer support in mental health recovery
