Mind in Croydon – active minds peer support groups and activities facilitator
We're looking for someone to run peer support groups for people who are accessing treatments through Croydon Talking Therapies, and who have completed their treatment with Croydon Talking Therapies.
Your groups will help service users to consolidate their learning and progress from treatment. And to get the support they need to continue their journey to recovery.
What you'll do
You will:
- Work with clients
- Run welcome meetings
- Help people to access groups
- Have clinical supervision from IAPT staff
- Run activities and community sessions
- Develop links with local groups
- Record client information
- Produce reports
About you
You'll need:
- A minimum of 12 months experience in mental health or a caring role dealing with vulnerable members of the community
- Knowledge of mental health issues
- Proven success in facilitating small groups and managing group dynamics
- Proven success in getting people to talk about their lived experience
- Proven success in improving people’s wellbeing
- To be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- To support and supervise service users
- Good communication skills
- The ability to write reports, case studies and correspondence to a professional standard
- To record and analyse statistics to provide monitoring data to funders’ requirements
- An understanding of the principles of risk assessment and safeguarding
- Proven success in motivating people who've found it difficult to change and in engaging people in an activity or group
