Mind in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes – crisis recovery worker
Our crisis cafés offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for people in mental distress or crisis.
In this role, you'll offer 121 support to help people improve their mental health and wellbeing and to signpost to local services. The role will be part of a larger crisis café team made up of crisis recovery workers, crisis peer support workers, a team manager and volunteers.
What you'll do
You will:

Deliver crisis focused 121s which support people experiencing a mental health crisis

Assess need and suitability for the service

Help maintain an effective volunteer workforce

Carry out health and safety responsibilities

Carry out cash handling responsibilities

Collect, update, monitor and report service data
About you
You'll have:
-
Experience working in a small service in a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets.

Used a dedicated database or system for recording and reporting service data
-
Worked with, coordinated and supported volunteers
-
Experience working with people experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues
-
The ability to maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people
-
Knowledge of local community activities and leisure facilities.

Good IT (MS Outlook, Word and Excel and internet), literacy and numeracy skills

Good communication, motivational and negotiation skills
-
A valid driving licence and access to a car for work

An understanding of the wellbeing needs of people with mental health problems, including people from culturally diverse communities
