Islington Mind – fundraising and administration officer

We're looking for a fundraising and administration officer to help develop business opportunities which will generate income for the charity. You'll also help to run our administrative systems.

What you'll do

You will:

  • Help develop and implement Islington Mind’s Fundraising and Business Development Strategy

  • Keep abreast of funding streams nationally and locally

  • Research, monitor, and identify funding opportunities at a local, regional and national level with corporate and public sector funders

  • Secure regular income by submitting targeted applications as directed by the head of service and the CEO

  • Work with colleagues to make sure income generation meets targets

  • Work with colleagues to develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, partners and stakeholders

  • Communicate and promote the charity’s activities

  • Represent the organisation externally

  • Be aware of local and national developments that can provide new sources of funding

About you

You'll have:

  • An understanding of the rights and needs of people experiencing mental health problems

  • At least 2 years' administrative experience in an office setting

  • Experience of liaising effectively and working in collaboration with a broad and diverse range of organisations and professionals

  • Proven experience of fundraising to generate income from trust and foundation fundraising, statutory commissioning bodies such as bid and tendering, corporates appeals, and other donors

  • Experience of working on your own initiative and as a member of a closely-knit team

  • The ability to organise, prioritise your own work, and multi-task

  • The ability to be adaptable and solve problems creatively

  • Excellent written communication skills, computer skills, and numeracy skills
