Derbyshire Mind – bank support worker

The purpose of this volunteer role is to facilitate the smooth running of Derbyshire Mind's crisis support drop-in service by presenting a warm, friendly and non-judgemental presence.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Ensure the smooth running of the service by assisting with day-to-day tasks 
• Welcome attendees, offer emotional support and promote recovery and wellbeing through active listening
• Signpost individuals to relevant community services
• Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Report safeguarding concerns
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions

We're looking for someone with:

• Compassionate and open-minded approach
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to engage with diverse individuals in a non-judgmental manner
• Professionalism, emotional resilience, and respect for confidentiality
• Reliability and the ability to work independently
