Coventry and Warwickshire Mind – children looked after practitioner
In this role you'll be involved in the development and delivery of a range of individual- and group-based therapeutic interventions to looked after children/young people, carers and professionals.
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Ensure the needs of the child or young person are paramount
- Champion the voice of the child or young person
- Undertake comprehensive consultations to identify the individual’s support needs
- Make decisions on suitability of new referrals
- Hold a designated caseload of looked after children and carers, developing individual packages of support, and reviewing these in line with the protocols of the service
- Be involved in the development and delivery of a range of therapeutic group interventions and workshops
About you
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience of working with children, young people and their families
- An ability to effectively engage with young people and their families
- Up to date knowledge of the mental health of looked after children, specifically attachment and trauma
- Professional qualification and up to date registration in one of the following professions: psychotherapy, counselling, play therapy, therapeutic play, drama therapy etc
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written
- Have a vehicle as means of transport, and the ability to travel to locations within Coventry and Warwickshire
