Thriving at Work: A guide to implementing workplace standards in the sport and physical activity sector

Thriving at Work is an independent review that outlines what employers can do to better support all employees, including those with mental health problems, to remain in and thrive through work.

We've collaborated with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the Sport and Recreation Alliance, and Sport England to help employers across the sport and physical activity sector to understand and implement the Thriving at Work standards. The guide is one of the actions published in the DCMS Mental Health and Elite Sport Action Plan (2018).

The Thriving at Work guide

Our free Thriving at Work guide for employers looks at each of the six core standards and four enhanced standards in turn. It provides practical examples of what employers are doing across the sector, as well as helpful tools. You can explore the full guide, specific chapters and useful resources below.
