Peer support in your community

Over the last five years, we’ve run programmes exploring the benefits of peer support, building an evidence base for its effectiveness, and promoting its value to people with experience of mental health problems, service providers and commissioners.

Ultimately, these programmes aim to improve people’s lives through access to and knowledge of peer support.

Side by Side delivered peer support to thousands of people. It also investigated the impact of this peer support on people’s mental health, wellbeing and use of services.

Women Side by Side

Mind and Agenda, the alliance for women and girls at risk, worked together on a programme of peer support for women, Women Side by Side, to increase the availability of high-quality peer support for women.
