Charity of the Year

We are delighted to be Veolia’s first ever Charity of the Year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCHHY-CRZuc

We’re Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support and advice, and fight your corner.

It is an astonishing statistic that one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any one year, so the possibility of it affecting someone you know is high.

To help us make a difference to society, we really need your help.

From everyone at Mind, thank you and good luck!

How Mind will support you

Once you have chosen the event for you and have registered to take part, you will receive a welcome call from a dedicated member of the Mind fundraising team. They will be on hand in the run up to the event to answer any questions you may have at any time.

Following our initial phone call, we will send you a welcome pack containing loads of information about the event, as well as fundraising and training advice to help you prepare.

Twelve weeks before the event, we will start to email you a fortnightly e-newsletter with information on training, fundraising, nutrition and other Mind activities.

Two to three weeks before the event you will receive your final pack with your Mind t-shirt or running vest and a final set of instructions for the event.

After the event, we will of course thank you for your participation, for your fundraising efforts and send you a certificate for taking part.

At most of our running events we also hold a post race reception with refreshments for you and your supporters to enjoy.

Do you have your own place?

If you have already entered a race directly through the event organiser for one of the events listed, you can still be part of our team.

All we ask is that you honour the fundraising targets as stated in the event information and you will benefit from all the support from Mind as mentioned above.

Fundraising

Now that you have chosen your event and registered, it is time to start fundraising!

To ensure the money that you raise goes towards the Veolia income target, we need you to set up a specific Veolia Virgin Money Giving page for your fundraising activities.

This will mean you can do your fundraising online and email your colleagues, friends and family the link so they can make their donation and claim Gift Aid all in one go – easy!

Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to charity.

Adding Gift Aid to your donation means that for every pound you give, Mind will receive an extra 25p. This means that a £10 donation with Gift Aid included is worth £12.50 to us.
