Silent about your anxiety?

Tottinset2 (1)Do you talk about what’s most worrying you? Or do you keep your mouth shut about things that make you anxious?

If you’re the tight-lipped type, we have a charity challenge for you...

Take Off The Tape!

Write down the thing that makes you most anxious and share it on social media. Show that you won’t be silenced by anxiety, and raise money for Mind, the mental health charity.

Not ready to share? That’s fine.

Only take part if you’re 100% ready to do this, please don’t push yourself too hard. If you are ready, thank you! Keeping anxiety inside is a big problem. Together we can help to change that.

How to join in...

If you don't normally talk about your anxiety, here is your #TakeOffTheTape challenge... Write down the biggest worry on something and carefully place it over your mouth. *Make sure it’s not too sticky first* (beard-owners beware!) and take special care it doesn't go over your nose.

Take a selfie and share it on social media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram - as many places as you dare!

Make sure you *use #takeoffthetape hashtag* and *share the link to this page -* on your social media post.

How to #TakeOffTheTape

Here's short video about how you can #TakeOffTheTape. It's lovely! Thanks to everyone at MEC who helped make it :)

About anxiety

Anxiety is a word we use to describe feelings of unease, worry and fear. It incorporates both the emotions and the physical sensations we might experience when we are worried or nervous about something.

We all know what it’s like to feel anxious from time to time. Because anxiety is a normal human experience, it's sometimes hard to know when it's becoming a problem for you – but if your feelings of anxiety are very strong, or last for a long time, it can be overwhelming.

Thank you MEC!

Take Off The Tape is the brainchild of Alexandra Lever and Paul Chisnall from MEC Global, one of the world's largest media agency networks. We at Mind were lucky enough to get this campaign created and supported for us for nothing! We'd like to take this opportunity to give massive thanks Alex, Paul and everyone at MEC who support Mind so amazingly generously.

Alex from MEC said of the Take Off The Tape campaign "This has been a great project to develop. We are delighted to be helping Mind to raise much-needed funds and awareness!"
