Austin Reed launches Mind Suit Swap

David Beckham has been hailed as the man that looks the greatest in a suit, whilst Jeremy Clarkson is deemed the least sexy, finds a survey by tailors Austin Reed. Today’s poll findings mark the launch of the Mind and Austin Reed Suit Swap, which urges the public to donate pre-loved and no longer needed suits to the mental health charity in return for £50 towards a new Austin Reed suit.
Despite now being in his late thirties, the father of four beat a host of other tailored gents to the accolade. Runner-up in the poll was Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney, followed by Bond actor Daniel Craig. In fourth and fifth place were Take That frontman Gary Barlow and Hugh Grant respectively.
The survey of 2000 found that found that Formula 1 driver Jenson Button made it in sixth place as the best dressed suit wearer closely followed by Princes Harry and William. Button’s team mate Lewis Hamilton was in ninth place followed by lovelorn Twilight actor Robert Pattinson.
Other men to carry off a good suit were named as X Factor host Dermot O’Leary, TOWIE heartthrob Mark Wright and Little Britain star David Walliams.
Despite being known for his high waistbands Simon Cowell completed the poll in twentieth place as the celebrity who looks best in a suit. The man who looks worst in a suit was voted as Jeremy Clarkson, followed by Russell Brand.
As part of the Suit Swap campaign, individuals can take any suit they no longer need to either and Austin Reed high street store or a local Mind charity shop. In return for their donation, all will receive a £50 voucher to spend instore at Austin Reed. The old suits will then be sold by Mind to raise vital funds for the charity and in turn support the one in four people who experience mental health problems every year.
Celebrities have kick started the donation process and suits from Plan B, Ant & Dec plus other best dressed celebrities will go up for online auction at the end of the campaign this autumn.
