Protest against disability benefits cuts
Posted Friday 6 May 2011
We are calling on our supporters to join us on Wednesday 11 May at The Hardest Hit march
Mind will be joining over 40 disability charities and organisations to campaign for The Hardest Hit, against cutbacks to disability benefits and services that will leave disabled people without vital support. This will affect hundreds and thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by mental health conditions.
Wednesday is a pivotal day for all those who want to fight for better mental health. Mental distress can have a traumatic impact on our lives: it robs us of our health and may cost us our jobs, our dignity – sometimes even our homes and our loved ones. Yet with the proposed cuts, disabled people and their families will be hit the hardest.
Many of our Mind supporters will be too ill to attend the march. If you are well enough, please join us to demand that the Government stops these cuts.
