Celebrating forty years of Royal Patronage from Princess Alexandra

Princess Alexandra has dedicated forty years to Mind as our Patron. Since 1969, having succeeded her mother, the then Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra has been a keen ambassador for us, attending awareness raising events and thanking supporters and shop volunteers who devote so much of their time and energy to Mind’s work.
Last month Mind hosted a reception at St. James's Palace in London to celebrate Princess Alexandra’s anniversary as Patron of Mind.
The Princess met Mind shop volunteers and some of our valued supporters. Guests included the classical boy band Blake, actress Helen McCrory and previous Mind Champion of the Year Dr Liz Miller.
Mind’s president Lord Bragg gave an inspiring speech on Mind’s work tackling the stigma and taboo of mental health.
The evening was a great opportunity to thank our supporters and volunteers, and especially Princess Alexandra, for all they do for Mind.
